Do you know what that the #1, most purchased product in history is? Information. From the purchasing of a “story”, later called “news”, to the buying of newspapers, to today’s consumption of content in all forms, information is and probably always will be, the single most consumed product in our lifetime.

Are you aware that the 5,000 largest U.S. companies put out the same piece of information an average of three different ways?  Each way leads them to a different audience with different “information” requirements and requests.

This nugget goes into detail as to how your company can start “chunking” all of the public facing information it churns out. It may surprise you how much information you are currently publishing and how many potential clients you will never reach without melting in this method, or a version of it.

This is on our consulting checklist of “Must be used by all companies in all industries”.

(0:00 – 0:55)
This is going to be slanted towards the tips and techniques of time. We’re going to talk about the science behind human performance. Here’s the goal.

I’m going to try to explain why do we do what we do and why do we not do the things we know we should do, and I’m going to hopefully provide it in a way that many of you listening can instantly become more productive. So let’s jump right in. I spoke about the University of Yale dissecting a 16-year-old brain and how incredibly fast we have adapted to technology, and I talked about they do a dissection every 40 years, and the brain, the 16-year-old brain, after 40 years, 20 of which were under extreme technology changes, the brain looks and acts completely different.

(0:55 – 2:05)
It’s more adaptable. It can now multitask at a greater level, and as great as that is, science is now showing us that with this great new computing power comes an incredibly great appetite for energy. So did you guys know that Gary Keller, author of The One Thing, reports that science now tells us that the human brain, check this out, the human brain, although only one-fiftieth of our body mass, consumes one-fifth of our daily calories.

Let me repeat that. The human brain, although only one-fiftieth of our body mass, consumes one-fifth of our daily calories. Whoa, that blows my mind.

That’s a pun intended. So I don’t know about you guys, but I cannot tell you how many times a day I’ve got to walk upstairs, walk away from the desk. I work in a basement office in our home, and I will literally blurt out to my daughter, my wife, whoever’s around, that I just simply can’t process anything right now.

(2:05 – 2:26)
Little did I know that what I was stating was a matter of fact. So it gets even better. Kevin Cruz, K-R-U-S-E, showed the world in 2015 that the brain goes from full energy to complete fatigue in as little as 90 minutes, depending on what it’s working at.

(2:26 – 3:00)
So going further, that to ensure focus, entrepreneurs and heavy thinkers should snack on protein and complex carbs throughout the day. I think there’s a lot of people that heard what I just said that are thinking about throwing away their five-hour energy drinks or their monsters now that they understand how the brain works. Monster and five-hour energy does very, very little into truly replenishing the absolute massive energy suck in our bodies, which is that eight pounds of gray matter between our ears.

(3:00 – 3:41)
So after interviewing seven billionaires and 239 entrepreneurs, Cruz, K-R-U-S-E, goes on to tell us that the most successful people today schedule what he refers to as solo concentration periods.
